According to AI: “Ocean’s Embrace: Experience the raw beauty of nature with this intricate ink drawing of rocks battered by the surf. Delicate lines capture the rhythmic dance of the waves as they crash against the rugged shore. Hand-drawn with a dip pen and dark blue black ink on 100% cotton paper, this piece is a testament to the enduring power of the ocean.”

I think it’s a bit simpler and more authentic than that.

One of the best parts of creating art by hand is the interplay between materials and accidents. Before creating this ink drawing I started noticing something cool happening between lines when I applied more pressure or less. With this drawing I wanted to explore the effect of repeated pressure lines and how that works for a sense of movement.

A simple image, but one I love to keep looking at. It reminds me of flow and how parts help to build the whole, like drops of water make up the ocean. But then again, on other days, I just like looking at the lines.
