I mean, that sounds a bit grand.
It actually started with the fantasy world I played in with my brother when we were younger. We’d think up a new world and create maps, invent creatures to live in it and played out the adventures. Sometimes inventing a world was enough and we’d forget to play the adventures.
In this artwork I created the map I’d have loved as a child: the tall mountains housing dragon’s nests, a tiny village along the river with farmers keeping sheep and other cattle, wild forests and impenetrable clouds – because we always left some mystery, something to explore.
And a dragon. Of course a dragon, the main character of so many stories. It’s mid flight, taking a bow – or perhaps eyeing one of those sheep to catch…
